Wood and stones; heavy opened doors; gardens with trees, moss, bamboos; mysterious stairways, streams, small cascades... sometimes, along a path, a shrine, scent, people praying… everything seems so natural but also really organized and balanced.

Spend some time into these gardens and you feel you should stop and meditate. Visit the temple, be quiet, get off theshoes, keep silent, and discover the hidden marvels behind the walls.

Exterior wooden corridor, tatamis rooms, sliding paper-doors, golden painted partitions with dragoons or tigers… each moment helps to catch a glimpse of the atmosphere, to scrutinize striking details, to be at peace with such serenity.

Whether it is Buddhists temples with Zen gardens or Shinto shrines, with vibrant colors, all these places provide calm, silence and peacefulness.

Hiroshima

Traveling in South-west Japan, we have made a stop in Hiroshima. There are many cultural marvels in the region, like the Miyajima Island and the Himeji Castle, but we have also been there for historical reasons.

Our discovery of the city begins with a visit to the Peace Memorial Park, a large place dedicated to the victims of the world's first atomic bomb target. A moment full of emotion is the visit of the Peace Memorial Museum.

Hiroshima will forever be remembered for that terrible instant, but it is also a busy, prosperous and attractive city. Bars, cafes, Japanese or international restaurants, shopping malls and buildings full of entertainment places... Hiroshima is a nice place to live in and to spend some evenings.
